Terms of Service

1. The Therapeutic Relationship

The relationship between Oasis Mental Wellbeing Counselling and you, the client, is strictly professional. It is not a social friendship. To protect your confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries, Oasis Mental Wellbeing Counselling does not engage in dual relationships (e.g., socializing or business partnerships) with current or former clients.

2. Confidentiality

All information disclosed within sessions is confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your written permission, except where disclosure is required by law.

Legal Exceptions to Confidentiality (Disclosure may occur if):

  • There is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
  • There is suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult.
  • A court of law issues a subpoena for client records.

3. Appointments and Cancellations

Scheduling: Sessions are typically 60 minutes in duration (i.e. 50 minutes for consultation and 10 minutes for administration tasks) and scheduled by appointment. You can book directly through the client portal.

Cancellation Policy: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged the full session fee. This policy is in place because the time has been reserved exclusively for you.

4. Fees and Payment

Fees: The fee for a standard session is set by the clinician and is subject to annual revisions. The clinician has the discretion to vary the fee for different type of clients.

Payment: Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made. Oasis Mental Wellbeing Counselling accepts payment via credit card, debit card, or direct bank transfer.

Medicare and Third-Party Payers: As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) practice, services may be eligible for rebates under Medicare (with a valid Mental Health Care Plan), WorkSafe, DVA, NDIS or private health insurance. You are responsible for providing valid referral details at the time of your first appointment and for understanding your coverage limits.

5. Telehealth and Technology

Oasis Mental Wellbeing Counselling offers secure telehealth services. You are responsible for ensuring you have a private, quiet space and a stable internet connection for the duration of our session. For your privacy, the recording of telehealth sessions is not permitted.

6. Social Media and Communication

Due to the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries, Oasis Mental Wellbeing Counselling does not accept friend requests or engage with current or former clients on social media platforms. Please use the secure client portal, email, or phone for all communication regarding appointments and treatment.
